Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Yearn account. By registering, you represent that you are 18 or older and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Yearn links to real bank accounts and processes real payments, so this age requirement is not optional.

2. What Yearn Is (and Isn't)

Yearn is a personal budgeting tool that helps you organize money into bills, goals, and funding schedules using an envelope-style system. You can track a manual account by hand, or link a real bank account through Plaid, Inc. ("Plaid") for automatic balance and transaction syncing.

Yearn is not a bank, is not a money transmitter, does not hold or move your funds, and is not FDIC insured. Yearn does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice — it is an organizational tool. Decisions you make based on information shown in Yearn are your own responsibility.

3. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. We may lock or suspend an account after repeated failed login attempts as a security measure.

If your device supports biometric login (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint), enabling it lets your device unlock your saved Yearn session using your device's own operating system — your biometric data itself is processed entirely by your device and is never sent to or stored by us.

4. Free Tier and Paid Subscriptions

Yearn offers a Free tier limited to a single financial account, and a paid Standard tier (billed monthly, with an optional one-time 30-day free trial) that unlocks multiple accounts and bank linking via Plaid.

Subscriptions are billed differently depending on how you access Yearn:

• On the web, subscriptions are processed by Stripe via a Stripe-hosted checkout page. We never see or store your full card number.
• On iOS and Android, subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play using their in-app purchase systems (processed via RevenueCat). Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account.

IMPORTANT — Auto-Renewal: Paid subscriptions automatically renew for the same term unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your payment method will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID / Google Play account settings (for App Store or Play Store purchases) or from your Yearn account settings (for web purchases). Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a paid subscription.

Refunds for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies — we do not have the ability to issue those refunds directly. For web (Stripe) purchases, contact us and we'll review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

We may change subscription pricing going forward; we'll give you reasonable notice before any change takes effect for your next billing cycle.

5. One Free Trial / Free Tier Per Person

The free trial and Free tier are intended for one use per person. Creating multiple accounts to repeatedly claim free trials, bypass the Free tier's account limit, or otherwise circumvent these limits is a violation of these Terms, and we may suspend or terminate accounts involved in that kind of abuse.

6. Bank Linking via Plaid

If you choose to link a bank account, Yearn uses Plaid to connect to your financial institution. You'll authenticate directly with your bank or Plaid — we never see or store your online banking username or password. Plaid provides us with account balances and transaction data for the accounts you choose to link, which we display and organize within Yearn. You can unlink a bank connection at any time from within the app. Plaid's own privacy policy and terms govern its handling of your credentials and the data it collects on its platform.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use Yearn for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or to our systems; interfere with or disrupt the Service; reverse-engineer or scrape the app; or use the Service to commit fraud, including abuse of free-tier/trial limits as described above.

8. Your Content and Data Accuracy

You're responsible for the accuracy of any data you manually enter (manual account balances, transactions, bill and goal amounts, etc.). For linked bank accounts, balance and transaction data comes from Plaid and your financial institution, and may not always be perfectly real-time. Always confirm important financial decisions directly with your bank.

9. Intellectual Property

Yearn's app, design, and branding are owned by G8GE, LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your personal budgeting purposes. You retain ownership of the financial data you enter or link into your account.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time from Settings, which deactivates your account, unlinks any connected bank accounts, and cancels your active subscription. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, including free-tier/trial abuse. See our Privacy Policy for details on what happens to your data after account closure.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data shown (including Plaid-sourced bank data) will always be perfectly accurate or current.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, G8GE, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of funds, data, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $50 if you're on the Free tier).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold G8GE, LLC harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Yearn will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to that venue and jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Yearn after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
